I realise more and more — I need the weekends to rest up and recharge. Work has become more and more hectic and lots of office politics have been happening as well.

Yesterday was exercise day, followed by going to a travel fest today and checking out an exhibition. Thereafter, it was off to the Esplanade to check out some live music as part of this event called Baybeats.

The weekend isn’t always enough, though — I always have unfinished things to do…

Been feeling lethargic and tired of late, handover of work from my counterpart to myself is in full swing as well.

If there’s a positive, I’m getting back some fitness — so will probably use this chance to try and get back to twice a week exercise minimum. I can feel the age catching up with me though…definitely I am not like in my early 20s. :)

Another positive — I have officially completed the Diploma in Regulatory Compliance part-time course that I’ve been working on for a year, and will get the certificate in November.

It’s a long weekend, so time to get some much needed rest and relaxing.

Happy that I managed to clear my probation! It was not the easiest of probations…had to submit 5 names for feedback on top of my supervisor’s name — but nonetheless it was a good chance to try working in an environment with 360 feedback mechanisms.

I should be stable for about a year to two years now, while I finish up my Masters.

Now — I should be able to accelerate working on my goals set for this year, because I have not managed to do much about it since March while working on the transition to this new working environment. :)

Barring any serious missteps, I should be able to clear probation at my current job with Allen & Overy. However the new Project Manager is giving some issues and I hope it will resolve itself in the weeks to come…

Looking forward to starting my part-time Masters next month…

I realise that I have been tensing up quite a bit into 2022. Probably it is to do with the cabin fever via being in Singapore and also because of the increasing work stress of late.

Note to myself to remember to find avenues to relax, focus on what matters, and not lose sight of the big picture. It will all be better soon as well. :)

Happy that I got offered for a Masters in Financial Management with the University of Manchester, and will be starting on the part time course in August 2022 — for 2 years.

Meanwhile, a reminder to self to work hard to complete the Diploma in Regulatory Compliance that I am doing now on time, so that I can have some time in between to make any job transition where possible.

Just looking through my degree certificates and work testimonials made me realise that I still have more to walk along this journey of pushing myself to the best I can be.

Reason being: I got approached by a university headhunter, who asked me for the above. It made me realise how much I have come, and how much more I have to go.

Issue is — what kind of engines do I rely on to push myself this time? It’s something to think about.

Anyway, all I can say is, life is about constantly fighting fate. We shall see where I end and land.
